Nure-Onna Earrings

Taken from Japanese folklore, the Nure-onna is a type of yokaī that typically thrives in bodies of water like oceans or rivers. Interestingly, Lilith the great demoness was also sometimes described in medieval times as a woman’s head on a snake’s body. The similarity of these feminine spirits that devour mankind suggests an imagery of frightening womanhood that haunts us across time and cultures.

Available in bronze with sterling silver ear hooks or solid sterling silver. Lightly oxidized for depth & dimension.

Dimensions: Measures approximately 4.3 cm tall x 3.7 cm wide.

Precisely hollowed backside for more lightweight wear. Please note—these earrings are on the heavier side, but wear comfortably all day on standard ear piercings. Not recommended for stretched or sensitive ear lobes.
