Soldering Angel is the jewelry line of metalsmith Andy Huang. Her work pieces together iconography of the ancient and modern world, and explores the often illusory dichotomies of pleasure and pain, virgin and whore, and sublime and abject, melding them together into complex entanglements. Metal is hard and jagged, and with jewelry it extends from a soft and vulnerable body. Sharp and talismanic, these amulets guard and protect, but can also inflict wounds.
